I don't think I would eat those man... I believe Volk? and others have ran tests on all species of Gyrometra's and they all contain MMH..

The toxin MMH ( Monomethylhydrazine ) collects and stays in the liver? and kidneys. Like you say, you've been eating them for years, but one more meal might put you over the edge. The toxins attack the liver and kidneys, and transplants aren't cheap !! Besides, there are true morels out at this time.

Ive been eating gyromitra caroliniana and gyromitra brunnea for years and have never gotten? sick. Now after reading more info im arfaid to eat either. Any thoughts on those two grifola.

In Sweden we eat these, I've picked these since I could walk. We boil them first though because they are poisonous and you can die from them actually. It's not allowed anymore to? be served in restaurants because it's still poisonous after boiled and some people die. But I've never had them in a restaurant anyway. I just boil them twice and throw away the water both times then i fry with plenty of butter and put on white bread, very yummy.
The poison in them is the same chemical as a rocket fuel.

I have tried them. Most authors, including Alexander H. Smith, state them as edible. There is also a western species Gyromitra Gigas,? which is also stated as edible.
